Smith Barn
The historic Smith Barn is situated on a picturesque hilltop surrounded by two hundred and fifty acres of orchards and conservation land. Located at the Felton-Smith Historic Site, adjacent to Peabody's Brooksby Farm, the Smith Barn is the perfect setting for corporate events, business meetings, reunions, picnics, and anniversary, birthday and holiday parties. Rich in beauty and significance, the site represents over three centuries of the region's history and is home to several historic landmarks.

The first floor of the barn is wheelchair accessible, and ample parking is available. Smith Barn is available for rent from March through November. The Felton-Smith Historic Site is located just 2 miles from Interstate 95 and Routes 1, 128 and 114.

Main Room

The meticulously restored Smith Barn features charming country ambience and modern amenities. The spacious main room comfortably accommodates groups of up to 240 people.

Carriage Room

The newly restored Carriage Room is ideal for smaller, more intimate celebrations or meetings and is suitable for up to 60 guests.

Directions

From Route 128 North and South

Take exit 25B, Route 114 West/Andover Street toward Middleton. Drive for about 1 mile and take a left onto Mt. Pleasant Drive. Take the first right onto Felton Street. After .3 mile the Smith Barn and parking lot will be on the left.

From Interstate 95 North

Take exit 47A and merge onto Route 114 East/Andover Street toward Peabody. Drive for 1.4 miles and turn right onto Mt. Pleasant Drive. Take the first right onto Felton Street. After .3 mile the Smith Barn and parking lot will be on the left.

From Interstate 95 South

Take exit 50 to merge onto Route 1 South toward Route 62 Danvers/Topsfield. Exit onto Route 114 East /Andover Street toward Peabody. Drive for 1.7 miles and turn right onto Mt. Pleasant Drive. Take the first right onto Felton Street. After .3 mile the Smith Barn and parking lot will be on the left.

From Route 1 North

Take the Lowell Street exit toward Peabody, and turn right onto Lowell Street. Drive for 1.2 miles, and turn left onto Baldwin Street. After .5 mile turn left onto Felton Street. The Smith Barn and parking lot will be on the left.

From Route 1 South

Take the Route 114 East /Andover Street exit toward Peabody. Drive for 1.7 miles and turn right onto Mt. Pleasant Drive. Take the first right onto Felton Street. After .3 mile the Smith Barn and parking lot will be on the left.

Membership
Rental fees support the mission of the Society to preserve and promote the rich history of Peabody. To express our gratitude for your support, individual renters receive a complimentary one-year membership to the Peabody Historical Society. Membership benefits include free admission to Society properties and programs, discounts on Society merchandise, notices of upcoming events and exhibits, and a subscription the Society's quarterly newsletter.

Corporate renters may want to consider participating in the Society's corporate membership program. One of the many benefits of this program is a special discount on a company event at the Smith Barn.

The Society's Heritage Gift Shoppe offers the Cat's Meow Felton-Smith Historic Site collection as well as notepaper featuring sketches of the Smith Barn, the Nathaniel Felton Junior House, and other Society properties.
