COVID Chronicles is a community project, whose goal is to collect, share and preserve the experiences of daily life in Peabody during the COVID-19 pandemic. It is a collaboration between the Peabody Institute Library, Peabody TV and the Peabody Historical Society and Museum.

We want to shed a light on this unique time in history, which is still very much ongoing. It has been a difficult time for so many, so please know contributions don’t have to be anything elaborate. It can just be as simple as a sentence to say how your life has changed. Every contribution will act like a puzzle piece, fitting together to tell the overall story of Peabody and COVID-19.

There are 2 ways to contribute to COVID Chronicles.

1 – Our website –

https://www.peabodylibrary.org/covidchronicles/
Here people can share stories, upload photographs, artwork or any other type of media.

2- For those who would like to share off-line, there is a designated COVID Chronicles voicemail at 978-896-6012.

Not sure what to say? Here are a few examples.

What it was like to go to the supermarket for the first time and seeing no toilet paper?

What is it like to attend a religious service over Zoom?

What has brought you unexpected joy in these difficult times (such as, re-connecting with nature)?

If you have lost someone to COVID-19, share something about them. How would they like to be remembered?

Part of the project is also working with Digital Commonwealth – a collection of libraries, archives and museums across Massachusetts – to post the submissions online and make them easily accessible to the public at digitalcommonwealth.org. We also hope to have an exhibit showcasing the contributions we receive.
