From 1947 to 1962, the West Peabody Speedway captivated audiences with stock car races, demolition derbies and even llama races! Just to name a few!
The track was located between Lake and Pine Streets. The City of Peabody took over the land in 1963 for the construction of the John F. Kennedy Junior High School.
Today, the track outline can be seen adjacent to Covenant Christian Academy, in Kennedy Fields Park.
If you have any memories of the Speedway or race photographs to share, we would love to hear from you!
